Loggerhead turtle tagged in Mexico in 2005 resurfaces in Japan

And that’s over 7,500 miles from feeding grounds off the coast of Mexico to nesting beaches in Japan!

Loggerhead turtles are known to make the trans-Pacific trek as a part of their regular migration, but according to Nature World New, this “tagged loggerhead is the first known occurrence of an individual loggerhead crossing the Pacific Ocean from Mexico to Japan!”
