Summer expeditions to the tundra, the boreal, and the prairie
This summer, we’re partnering with the University of Alberta, the University of Colorado Denver, and the USGS Alaska Science Center to deploy tracking devices on 8 bird species in three unique North American breeding habitats for migratory birds.
Follow our adventures as we work in the tundra of Alaska, the boreal forest of Alberta, and the shortgrass prairie of Colorado.
In Colorado, Mike Wunder and Allison Pierce of the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Colorado Denver, attached archival GPS tags to 15 Mountain Plovers. See photos from the field and read more about this project here >>.
